George Huntley is Chief Executive Officer of The Money Platform, a fintech company focused on improving access to responsible credit. The business develops innovative credit assessments to support people underserved by mainstream finance.
George joined The Money Platform pre-launch as its first employee and has led the business since 2020, overseeing a period of rapid revenue and profit growth alongside substantial product development. The company uses Open Banking data, behavioural insights, affordability assessments and vulnerability screening to make better credit decisions, while investing in financial education and support tools to help borrowers understand credit and build financial resilience. George also participates in regulatory and industry discussions, including roundtables on the future of financial services regulation.
Before joining The Money Platform, George worked in investment banking and asset management. He holds a degree from the University of Oxford, alongside industry qualifications including the Certificate in Corporate Finance and the Investment Management Certificate.
Outside of work, George is a governor and leads the Finance Committee at a comprehensive school in London. He also mentors and invests in start-ups. Through the Thatcher Fellowship, George hopes to explore how proportionate regulation, technology and access to capital can create the conditions for innovative firms to grow, improve financial inclusion and support a more productive economy.
