Jamie is an English venture capitalist investing in UK-based, early-stage technology businesses. He is currently an Investment Manager at Committed Capital and previously worked for the Asia-based conglomerate, Jardine Matheson, where he spent 7 years starting, growing, and acquiring businesses across Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore.
He hopes to use the Thatcher Fellowship to bridge the gap between the needs of scale up entrepreneurs and policy makers. He has particular policy interests around areas linked to bolstering economic growth; such as supporting the UK’s entrepreneurial ecosystem and innovation economy, infrastructure investment and UK tax system reform. He is also interested in comparative studies drawing in best practice from other leading free-market economies.
Jamie has a 1st Class Degree in International Relations from Durham University (Vice Chancellor’s Scholar) and an MSc in Management from Imperial College Business School. He holds a CISI level 4 Certificate in Investment Management and is a ICAEW Corporate Finance Candidate.
Outside of work, Jamie is a capped Singapore National Rugby team player and has worked for charities focused on improving routes to employment for young offenders & mental health.
