Usman is a treasury and financing specialist with nearly two decades of experience helping hedge funds and financial institutions optimise capital usage, funding strategies and client profitability.
Most recently, he served as Executive Director at Morgan Stanley, overseeing financial resources for the Structured Credit & Financing business, with a focus on reducing carry costs and developing financing solutions for hedge fund clients.
Before that, he spent a decade at Credit Suisse as a Director, managing pricing, balance sheet strategy and client profitability across Prime Brokerage and Equity Swaps. He was intimately involved in the implementation of Basel III, developing regulatory risk models and adapting the business to the new capital and liquidity regime. Working directly with treasurers at many of the world’s leading hedge funds gave him a front-row view of their operating models, funding needs and strategic priorities.
He now runs a consulting practice helping hedge funds, asset managers and allocators build resilient treasury functions, and brings a practitioner’s perspective on capital, liquidity and financial regulation.
