Harry Gillow is a barrister at Monckton Chambers, practising in public and commercial law. He has appeared in a wide range of courts and tribunals, including on a number of key cases on the interpretation of assimilated EU law post-Brexit. He has worked on secondment at the Bank of England assisting with issues around Brexit and financial regulation, and at the FCDO on consular issues during COVID. He is a member of the executive committee of the Society of Conservative Lawyers, and has co-authored papers for the Society on the Rwanda Bill, on the previous government’s proposal for a Bill of Rights, and on procurement reform.
Prior to the bar, Harry graduated from Oxford University with a double first in Classics before working as a researcher for Sir Bill Cash MP, including during the Brexit referendum. He previously served as an army reservist and was a finalist on the 2015 series of University Challenge.
Harry is excited to be joining the inaugural cohort of Thatcher Fellows. He is looking forward to working with the other fellows and the CPS on the programme, and to developing his understanding of political theory and practice at this key moment for UK conservative politics.
