Olivia Hall

2026/27 Cohort

Olivia Hall is a Public and Government Affairs Specialist at Valero Energy Ltd, the world’s largest independent refining company. Olivia supports Valero’s advocacy efforts in the UK, Ireland and the EU, across major areas of energy policy, including industrial policy, transport and carbon pricing. Olivia regularly conducts industry research for briefings, including for senior MPs, TDs and MEPs, the U.S. Department of Energy and officials in London, Dublin and Brussels.

Prior to joining Valero, Olivia was a Parliamentary Assistant to a Home Office Minister responsible for immigration, where she engaged closely with constituents and local businesses on matters of employment, planning and investment.

Olivia holds a degree in Classics from King’s College London, and recently completed the Associateship of King’s College, receiving multiple Dean’s commendations. She was subsequently elected an Associate of the College by the Council.

Outside of work and politics, Olivia enjoys travelling, and is a keen rower and scuba diver.

Through the Thatcher Fellowship, Olivia hopes to further explore the opportunities for growth that private sector investment can provide and how this can bridge some of the socioeconomic pitfalls we see across the UK. She is particularly interested to how best to apply free-market principles at a time when our economy and politics is equally apathetic and divided.
