Dan Medlock is a technology executive and cofounder with over 15 years of experience leading high-growth businesses at the forefront of artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.
He has held senior roles across startups, scale-ups and PLCs, including serving as CFO and COO at venture-backed AI companies and leading a major PLC cybersecurity business unit. A chartered accountant by training, Dan has worked closely with private equity and venture capital firms to drive operational scale, successful exits and innovation adoption. Most recently, he has returned to a cofounder role for a new agentic AI marketing technology startup.
Dan is a selected Conservative Party council candidate for the 2026 local elections and also serves as a school governor. He has a long-standing interest in public policy, especially at the intersection of emerging technologies and economic growth.
Through the Thatcher Fellowship, Dan hopes to deepen his understanding of public policy and political communication, and to explore how free-market principles can help shape the UK’s response to emerging technologies like AI. He is particularly interested in bridging the gap between the technology sector and policy-making, and in helping to ensure the UK remains a world leader in innovation-driven growth.
