Karl Williams is Research Director at the Centre for Policy Studies.
A data specialist with a background in energy and seaborne trade research in the City, his work at the CPS has focused on political economy, immigration policy and the intellectual foundations of free market conservatism – as well as content of the Thatcher Fellowship programme. He is a frequent contributor to CapX and has written for a range of national outlets including the Telegraph and the Spectator. Before joining the CPS in 2021, he achieved a distinction in the Political Thought and Intellectual History MPhil at Cambridge. His political hero is Norman Tebbit.
