The Conservative Party is about to undertake a comprehensive review of its philosophy and policies. That quest should be primarily shaped by considerations of intellectual integrity. It is, though, both inevitable and proper that matters of political calculation might conceivable enter the equation. The party would not, after all, be obliged to proceed with this exercise had it not been ejected from office almost eighteen months ago.
