'Inclusive Britain' strategy represents practical plan for tackling inequalities

Responding to the Government’s ‘Inclusive Britain’ strategy Callum Price, Head of Communications at the Centre for Policy Studies, said:

“The Government is right to back the Sewell report’s argument that the causes of ethnic disparities are complex and diverse, and require a range of policy responses to address them. Unfair treatment on the basis of race is still a reality for too many people, but there is more to this story than just systemic racism.

“Ignoring half of the picture, including issues such as family breakdown and educational failure, leads to bad policy making for individuals and wider society. The practical policies outlined in the ‘Inclusive Britain’ strategy represent a better way forward in this complex area, offering practical actions to counteract unjust inequalities where they still reside.”
