High streets eyed for 500,000 new homes

Britain’s derelict high streets should be transformed help solve the country’s housing crisis, an influential think tank has urged.

Plans to “reinvent and reuse” vacant commercial properties could provide space for 500,000 new homes, according to a report published by the Centre for Policy Studies today.
