The Centre for Policy Studies is delighted to announce that Rachel Wolf and Stephen Parkinson have agreed to become CPS Research Fellows and members of its Advisory Council.
Rachel is the co-founder of Public First, a former member of the No 10 Policy Unit and a founder of the New Schools Network. She has been working with the CPS on a major project on welfare reform, due to be published imminently.
Stephen – soon to join the House of Lords – was political secretary at No 10 Downing Street, a senior member of the Vote Leave team and a senior adviser at the Home Office. He is also a former director of policy at the CPS.
Rachel and Stephen have accepted these unpaid positions alongside their existing roles.
Separately, Andrew Griffith, Chairman of the CPS’s Advisory Council, has stepped down from his role due to his appointment as the Prime Minister’s Chief Business Adviser. Before entering No 10 Andrew was COO of Sky. And Emma Barr, the CPS’s Head of Communications, has been appointed as a Special Adviser at the Department for Transport. A replacement will be appointed in due course.
Ben Elliot, the CPS’s Treasurer, has been appointed as Co-Chairman of the Conservative Party, but will remain on the CPS’s Board of Directors. Likewise Tom Clougherty, the CPS’s Head of Tax, will serve in an unpaid role on the Government’s free ports advisory panel.
Finally, Nick King has returned to his role as the CPS’s Head of Business, having taken a leave of absence to act as campaign manager for the Rt Hon Sajid Javid MP in the recent Conservative Party leadership election. He is currently working on a major project on levelling up Britain’s left-behind regions.
