Cancer patients will be able to update their doctors via a WhatsApp-style app, according to a new report published by the Centre for Policy Studies, Tuesday 1 May.
Powerful Patients, Paperless Systems, by Havant MP Alan Mak puts forward a number of proposals to bring forward a digital-first NHS, including a secure messaging app which would replace the current system where doctors and nurses across the NHS use several different paper-based recording systems.
The report, which has the backing of Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt, aims to provide “effective and securte digital communication” between patients and healthcare providers.
