Are grammer schools unfair? CPS report quoted by The Spectator

Grammar schools are back in the news as the Education Secretary Damian Hinds annouces more funding to enable existing schools to set up so-called ‘satellite schools’.

In his piece for The Spectator’s Coffee House blog, David Butterfield highlights the unfairness created by increased houseprices near grammar schools. The price increases due to the demand for good school places was highlighted by the Centre for Policy Studies report “How to Overcome Selection by House Price” last year and effectively prices out the children of poorer families from attending grammar schools.
