A solution to Tory electoral problems in the capital. Work to make it more like the rest of England - Alex Morton

Alex Morton, CPS Head of Policy, writes his regular column for Conservative Home on the Conservative Party’s London problem ahead of the local elections tomorrow.

In it he argues the party’s problems were not caused by Brexit, they were already visible during David Cameron’s premiership.

“For some London Conservatives and media commentators, the solution to our London woes is to make England more like London. There is little data or logic behind such an approach. The answer instead is to make London more like the rest of England over time – which, through sensible housing, immigration and wider policies is entirely possible – if the leadership of our party want.”
