Centre for Policy Studies succession

Lord Saatchi, Chairman of the Centre for Policy Studies (CPS) announces: 1. Jill Kirby is standing down as Director of the CPS as from 1 February 2010, after three very successful years in this role. Jill’s contribution to the work and reputation of the CPS has been immense since she took on the position in November 2007 and the Chairman and Board would like to take this opportunity to thank her for all her hard work and to congratulate her on her achievement in ensuring that the CPS is (in the words of Education Secretary Michael Gove) “at the heart of the political debate.” 2. I have asked Lord Salisbury to chair a Nominations Committee to oversee the succession which is expected later in the year. Board Committee members will be George Bridges, former Chairman of the Conservative Research Department; Lord Forsyth, former Chairman of David Cameron’s Tax Commission, Andrew Knight, Chairman of J. Rothschild Capital Management; and Fraser Nelson, Editor of The Spectator. 3. Tim Knox, currently Editor-in-Chief of the CPS, is appointed Acting Director and will manage the CPS during the transition period.
