US Election Preview

14/10/2020 - 14/10/2020

With three weeks to go to election day and all to play for, the Centre for Policy Studies is delighted to host a public webinar, held in partnership with the C|T Group, on the US presidential election campaign, with a special focus on key swing states, and voters’ key motivations when choosing a candidate.

In the 2016 US Presidential election, 25% of US voters said they had not decided who to vote for until the last month of the campaign. This year, C|T is polling in seven key swing states in the US to understand voting trends and why these states matter so much in the election outcome.

We are joined by three speakers:

  • Matthew Shaddick, Head of Political Betting at Ladbrokes, part of GVC plc, who will begin the event with an expert perspective on the political betting markets and how they differ from the polls.

  • Sam Lyon, Managing Director of C|T Partners in London, will then share the findings from the polling and what it indicates.

  • Larry Grossman, Managing Director at C|T Group Washington will offer his insight, from the frontline, on what the campaigns are saying in public and in private about the race.

All three speakers are then ready to take your questions for what should be a fascinating series of perspectives and insights – not least what the result might mean for US/UK relations.

This event was chaired by Emily Duncan, CPS Chief Operating Officer.

The event took place virtually on Tuesday 20th October at 17.00.
