A Pro-Growth Tax System for the UK

27/10/2020 - 27/10/2020

The Centre for Policy Studies has been working with the Tax Foundation on a revenue-neutral plan for a more competitive and pro-growth UK tax regime.

This comes after the release of the Tax Foundation’s annual International Tax Competitiveness Index, which places the UK 22nd out of 36 OECD countries, down one place from 2019.

In this new report, CPS and Tax Foundation researchers propose a fiscally balanced package of pro-growth tax reforms that would see the UK shoot up the international competitiveness rankings.

To discuss the findings of and recommendations made in the report, we will be joined by:

The Rt Hon Jesse Norman MP, Financial Secretary – HM Treasury

Helen Miller, Deputy Director – The Institute for Fiscal Studies

Tom Clougherty, Head of Tax – The Centre for Policy Studies

Daniel Bunn, Vice President of Global Projects – The Tax Foundation

The event took place on Tuesday 27th October at 17.00 – 18.00.
